Media Workers Knowledge Boosted with Training

    A three-day Training for Local Journalists on ‘Reporting on COVID19: Combating Misinformation Online’ has ended successfully on Friday 25 September.

    The training was funded by Pacific Media Assistance Scheme (PACMAS), an Australian Government funded media training initiative for the Pacific, and was facilitated in collaboration with the Media Association of Solomon Islands (MASI).

    Grace Williams, a representative of the Australian High Commission in Solomon Islands speaking during the presentation of certificates to the participants, said her government was pleased to support the training for media workers in the Country.

    She said she hope the training offered the Journalist and communication officers knowledge and new skills that they can use in their reporting.

    “Factual reporting, especially during the pandemic is paramount,” She Said.

    PACMAS is a regional media development program that aims to facilitate discourse across government, business and civil society, via Pacific media.

    This training will help boost reporting skills and knowledge of local journalists and communication officers.
