Da’Ville Set to Rock Honiara This New Year’s Eve

Jamaican reggae artist Da’Ville (a.k.a - Orville Thomas) at the Press Conference held at the Pacific Casino Hotel in Honiara.


ORVILLE Thomas (a.k.a Da’Ville) – will be brightening up New Year’s Eve in a very special concert as the Jamaican popular reggae artist.

The concert will take place on December 31 (tomorrow) at the Pacific Casino Hotel Seafront.

The critically admired singer-songwriter will perform a selection of his top hits and much more besides to welcome in 2020 in Honiara.

As a much loved and respected figure in Jamaican music culture, and a popular reggae artist among locals in the Solomon Islands, Da’Ville is responsible for a string of global hits including Can’t Get Over You, Mama, Always on My Mind, This Time I Promise and others will be kicking things off on the big night as he is joined on stage at the Pacific Casino Hotel Seafront.

Top Entertainment Manager, Shelton Pio said he is absolutely privileged to bring Da’Ville into the Solomon Islands and more especially to be part of the New Year’s Eve festive celebrations in Honiara.

“It’s a very big privilege for us (top entertainment) to bring Da’Ville into the country and thanks to DJ Victor Lopez (Lopez Records) for actually making it happen.

“I don’t know how to express my feeling and for me, it’s an honor – like when I was back in High School, I always listen to Da’Ville songs…and like one day, I am hoping to bring him into the country and so it’s here finally – it’s a very exciting feeling to have him perform tomorrow night,” Pio expressed.

The Da’Ville New Year’s Eve Concert 2019 is locally organized by Top Entertainment.

Orville said he is looking forward to welcoming the New Year 2020.

“I am basically looking to welcome the New Year 2020 with more hope for the future and to be optimistic about what 2020 is going to bring. I want Solomon Islanders to celebrate the New Year, not as individuals but as a country…just be confident in yourself in what you can achieve by 2020.

“And I want locals to continue to support Daville music and continue to grow with it,” the Jamaican artist said.

For the first time, Da’ville will perform on the stage together with the fellow Solomons very own participating artists – Sean Rii, Ruff Neck, Honiara 5 O, Devande, Two 4 One Band and many more at Pacific Casino Hotel Seafront.

Da’Ville will be leaving the country on January 1.
