70 S.I Philippines Students to be brought Home

AFTER months of pleading and begging to come home, some of the Solomon Islands Student studying in the Philippines will now be coming home.

The government is considering repatriating 70 of our students studying in the Philippines to bring them home.

According to Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare this afternoon, the repatriation includes those who have completed their study programs and those who will no longer continue with their studies.

“I wish to assure all that the rest of our students in the Philippines are being looked after well, and their repatriation will be considered at the year-end break.

According to a student being interviewed by Sunday Isles, she said it’s about time the Government heard, and she thanks the Government to finally consider their cry.

Prime Minister Sogavare in the meantime said 300 citizens and residents are expected to return home at the end of this month.

“On the other hand, our quarantine stations have now been cleared and necessary cleaning has been done in preparation for the next group of our repatriate citizens and residents.” Prime Minister Sogavare said.
