THE Government through the Ministry of Health and Medical Services to date, has spent around SBD 30.2 million for its COVID-19 preparedness and response activities.
This was revealed by Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare when addressing the nation today 14th of September 2020.
Prime Minister Sogavare said the spending covers five main outputs including surveillance and risk assessment, prevention and containment, integrated management and response, health system response and risk communication.
He further revealed that from this amount, over SBD 11 million have been allocated for surveillance and risk assessment, over SBD 10 million to prevention and containment, SBD 4.2 million to integrated management response and SBD 3.9 million for health system response and over half a million to risk communication.
“The $30 plus million also covers support towards the provinces under these five major outputs.
“Other expenditures are allocated to the National Referral Hospital COVID-19 facilities, quarantine stations and Health Emergency Operation Center,” Prime Minister Sogavare said.
