THE Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Chief Matthew Varley will be hosting a conference this week in Honiara for the Pacific Islands Chiefs of Police Women’s Advisory Network.
During his previous weekly media conference, Varley told local reporters that it is a sub group formed under the Pacific Islands Chief of Police conference where he will be the chair and Executive leader and sponsor for the conference.
Mr Varley said the purpose of the workshop is to look at the strategic plan of how they want to advance the role of women in policing not only here in Solomon Islands but across the pacific.
“I am very proud to host the conference this week as it was a good step forward for women in policing across the pacific and a great step for the RSIPF to show its commitment to the course of promoting women’s carrier is an opportunity in policing,” he said.
He added the two days conference would see guests coming from all around the pacific including Vanuatu, Cook Islands, Fiji, Guam, Australia, New Zealand and representatives here in Solomon Islands.
