THE Media Association of Solomon Islands (MASI) is pleased to announce the successful applicants for the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Project Officer (PO).
MASI President Charles Kadamana recently made the announcement to informed MASI members.
“Our new CEO is Mr Atenia Tahu and new PO is Mrs Francisca Tamu,” according to MASI President.
Mr Tahu has graduated with a Bachelor of Arts – Majoring in Journalism and Economics at the University of the South Pacific, Laucala Campus in Suva, Fiji. He is not new to the local media Industry as was once a senior reporter with the Solomon Islands Broadcasting Cooperation (SIBC) from 2009 to 2013.
He is currently the National Communication for Development officer at UNICEF.
Meanwhile, the newly appointed MASI Project Officer, Mrs Tamu has also graduated with Bachelor of Arts in Banking and Finance with Applied Psychology at the University of the South Pacific, Laucaula Campus in Suva Fiji.
She is currently the Administration and Finance officer at the Kastom Garden Association.
Kadama said MASI has allowed time for the two newly appointed officers to sort out details with their current employers, as required under their employer regulation before resuming office.
“In the meantime, MASI Executive Committee will delegate their responsibilities through email.
“MASI wish to acknowledge all the members for their patience, support and wish to convey sincere apologies for any in convenience caused because of the delay in this process.
“MASI also wish to acknowledge the Leadership Advisory Group (LAG) for dealing appropriately with the internal issues affecting MASI and to allow the current Executive Committee to go ahead with business.
“MASI Secretariat will keep you updated on the upcoming training programs and activities outlined for the coming year,” he added.
