FULIKAOMAE Village located just within Auki Township in Malaita – with the help of two youth activists, Phillip Subu and Maverick Peter Seda has set up a COVID-19 Committee this week on Monday 6th April.
According to Phillip Subu, the committee which consists of 7 members was formed purposely to work together on preventive measures with the Malaita Provincial Government and Responsible health authorities to help mitigate risk involving COVID-19, if the Virus happens to reach Malaita shores.
“The establishment of the COVID-19 Committee is timely and is also urgent as Fulikaomae village is located within the Auki Township and is at a high risk should the Virus reaches Auki, Malaita Province.
Subu further revealed that they are fortunate to have a Medical and Laboratory Tech Graduate, Mr. Levi James included in the committee adding valuable knowledge and skills to the team.
“We are grateful and appreciates the inclusion of Mr. Levi James, a Medical and Laboratory Tech Graduate in the committee and we are now ready to work on preventive measures strategies with the Malaita Provincial Government and Responsible health authorities to help mitigate risk involving COVID-19.”
Subu, in the meantime, said that the villagers needed that CIVID-19 awareness and the one organized cleared many doubts and questions that the villagers have on the COVID-19 issue.
