APPLICATIONS for the recruitment for the 2019 National Population and Housing Census Supervisor and Enumerator positions has officially closed yesterday (July 31st).
Thousands of applicants for both Honiara and the nine provinces have flooded the Census Office/National Statistics Office for the past days and today to hand-in their completed application forms.
Amongst the applicants/job seekers are youths, students, public servant officers, retired government officers, private company employees, and University graduates.
Census Commissioner, Douglas Kimi said that the census is the biggest undertaking for the country, therefore, he thanked all applicants who show their interest in submitting their applications.
He said that all recruitment processes will be carried out in due course, therefore, he calls on applicants for patience.
Mr. Kimi also appreciated the National Government for supporting the 2019 Census project in terms of funding and looks forward to the implementation phase in November.
Census night is on November 24th and will be conducted under the slogan “Kaont blo mi, fiusa blo mi” or in English translation “My count, my future”.
